Online betting app case: ED questions Yuvraj Singh

NEW DELHI: Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case linked to illegal online betting platforms. Yuvraj appeared at the ED office in Delhi around 11:30 a.m. yesterday, where officials recorded his statement.

The case is related to the online betting app 1xBet. Earlier this week, on Monday, former cricketer Robin Uthappa was also questioned in the same case. Before that, former players Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan had been questioned. Actress and former Trinamool Congress MP Mimi Chakraborty and Bengali actor Ankush Hazra were also questioned. Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been served a notice to appear today.

The ED registered the case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) following suspicions that 1xBet and other online platforms were involved in tax evasion and fraud worth several crores of rupees.
