K J Yesudas bags Tamil Nadu’s M S Subbalakshmi award, actors Sai Pallavi, S J Suryah bag Kalaimamani Awards
CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Government’s Kalaimamani Awards given to eminent artists in the fields of art and literature have been announced. The awards for the years 2021,2022 and 2023 were announced.
Singer K J Yesudas has bagged the M S Subbalakshmi Award. The award is given considering his contributions to the music field. The award carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh, a gold medal of three sovereigns and a plaque. Chief Minister M K Stalin will present the award at the function held in Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai in October.
Actors Sai Pallavi and S J Suryah, director Lingusamy and action choreographer Super Subbarayan have been selected for the 2021 Kalaimamani Awards.
Actors Vikram Prabhu, Jaya Guhanathan, lyricist Viveka and PRO Diamond Babu have been selected for the 2022 Kalaimamani Awards.
Singer Shweta Mohan, actors Manikandan and George Marian, cinematographer Santhosh Kumar, music director Anirudh Ravichander, choreographer and actor Sandy Master and PRO Nikhil Murugan have been selected for the 2023 Kalaimamani Awards.
A total of 90 people is being honored in various categories including cinema, music, drama, dance and folk arts.
