Anganwadi teacher suspended for slapping child in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint has been filed against an Anganwadi teacher for slapping a student. The incident happened yesterday at the Anganwadi in Mottamoodu Parambikonam in the capital city. As the child was crying non-stop at night, his parents asked and then the child said that his teacher slapped him. The child is presently undergoing treatment in Thycaud Hospital.

The hospital authorities have informed the child welfare committee. When the committee sought an explanation from the teacher, she stood firm in her stand saying that she had not hit the child. The teacher has been suspended pending investigation.
