Chance to get lucky extended; Thiruvonam bumper lottery draw postponed to next month
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The draw for this year's Thiruvonam bumper tickets has been postponed. It has been postponed to the 4th of next month. The draw has been postponed following complaints from agents that the change in GST and heavy rains have affected sales. It was earlier announced that the draw will be held at a special function tomorrow at 2 pm at the draw venue in Gorky Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram.
All 75 lakh tickets printed for this year's Thiruvonam Bumper have been sold to agencies. Palakkad has sold the most tickets so far. 14,07,100 tickets have been sold here. Thrissur, which is in second place, has sold 9,37,400 tickets and Thiruvananthapuram, which is in third place, has sold 8,75,900 tickets to agencies. 71.40 lakh Thiruvonam Bumper tickets were sold last year.
Like last year, the first prize of the Onam Bumper Lottery is Rs 25 crore this year as well. The second prize is Rs 1 crore each for 20 people, the third prize is Rs 50 lakh each for 20 people, the fourth prize is Rs 5 lakh each for 10 series, and the fifth prize is Rs 2 lakh each for 10 series. In addition, several prizes of Rs 5000, 2000, 1000 and 500 are also available through the draw.
