Expatriate who returned home commits suicide after stabbing wife to death; police launch probe

BENGALURU: In a shocking incident, a youth committed suicide after stabbing his wife to death. The incident took place in Bengaluru on Sunday. Manju (27), who was working as a nurse at a private hospital in Bengaluru, was murdered by her husband, Dharmashilam (30). Dharmashilam, who had been working in the Gulf as a mason, took his own life after murdering Manju.

The couple got married in September 2022. They had been living with Manju's father, Periyaswami, in a rented house in Bengaluru. It was Periyaswami who discovered their bodies at around 9.30 pm on Sunday. There were several stab wounds on Manju's body. Dharmashilam was found hanging from a ceiling fan. Police have initiated a probe to find out the reason behind Dharmasilam's actions.
