'Good things happen when good people lead from the front'; Governor heaps praise on Vellappally

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor Rajendra Arlekar and Minister VN Vasavan heaped praises on SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellappally Natesan at the inauguration of the SNDP Yogam Sivagiri Union Hall.

“Good things happen when good people lead from the front. That is what we saw through Vellappally Natesan,” the Governor said. “He shows strong leadership qualities and guides a large community. Leading an organisation continuously for 30 years is no small achievement. I wish him the strength to continue guiding the organisation for many more years,” he added.

Minister VN Vasavan described Vellappally as an irreplaceable leader. “He turned a neglected book into one that everyone now reads. Such a leader cannot be found in any other organisation,” the minister said.

Speaking at the event, Vellappally noted that it was a pleasure to hear kind words in Varkala, a place where he had often faced criticism. He said his entry into SNDP Yogam was “accidental,” and that leaders like VS Achuthanandan encouraged him to hold the movement together.

“People criticise me for talking about caste. But as long as the caste system exists, I will continue to speak about it,” Vellappally said. He also clarified that he has no political ambitions, but insisted that the community must get its rightful share of representation in power.
