Actress Rini Ann George who levelled allegations against Rahul Mamkootathil, in CPM venue; leader welcomes her to party

KOCHI: Actress Rini Ann George, who first publicly raised sexual harassment allegations against Rahul Mamkootathil MLA, in CPM venue. She attended a protest program against cyber-attacks. She shared the dais with former minister K K Shailaja at the programme held in Kochi.

'I openly said that a young leader had misbehaved with me. As I didn’t want to hurt and make that movement sad, I did not mention the name of it or name the person. My intention was not to hurt anyone or tarnish any movement.

I just had one intention. I only asked the question whether young leaders entering politics should be like this. I only tried to share how leaders entering politics should treat women and that they should move forward with ethics. Without saying the name of the person or mentioning the movement, I was cyber-attacked terribly,’ she said.

CPM leader K J Shine welcomed Rini to the party. She said, ‘women like Rini should join us. Expressed her desire to join this movement. Rini can take her own decisions. I end my words saying that we wholeheartedly welcome her at any time.’
