Jayaram had then mentioned in the press meet convened then that he came as invited by Unnikrishnan Potty. 'I cannot express my happiness. I have been a devotee coming to Sabarimala for the past 45 years. Unni and Govardhan are the faces I see regularly when at the temple during Makaravilakku. They had told me that the Ayyappan temple was being renovated. They sponsored it.
After gold plating the temple’s nada, I was able to pray at Changanassery before taking it back to Sabarimala. Now the temple's kattalappadi is being completely plated in gold and taken to Sabarimala. They gave me the chance to perform its first puja today in Chennai. It is the greatest fortune in my life. I will never forget this,' Jayaram said at the press meet.
