Electric car catches fire in Kozhikode; narrow escape for passengers

KOZHIKODE: A running car caught fire on the national highway in Kozhikode. The electric car, in which a group of Hyderabad natives were travelling, caught fire near the HiLITE Mall at around 4 pm on Sunday. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

The car had been completely destroyed by the time the fire force team arrived at the scene and doused the fire. The car had been rented in Kozhikode by the Hyderabad natives. The passengers got out of the vehicle after noticing smoke and a strong burning smell, which helped them narrowly avoid a major accident.
