Heavy rains predicted; warns people of these districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rains in Kerala in the next five days. Yellow alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta and Idukki. There is a possibility of isolated heavy rain. Heavy rain is defined as a situation where rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is received in 24 hours.

Alert issued to fishermen The IMD has informed that fishing should not be done on the Kerala-Lakshadweep coasts on 08/10/2025 and 09/10/2025; and on the Karnataka coast on 09/10/2025.

08/10/2025 & 09/10/2025: Strong winds gusting up to 40 to 50 kmph and occasionally up to 60 kmph and bad weather likely along the Kerala- Lakshadweep coasts.

09/10/2025: Strong winds gusting up to 40 to 50 kmph and occasionally up to 60 kmph and bad weather likely along the Karnataka coast. Special alert issued 07/10/2025: Strong winds gusting up to 40 to 50 kmph and occasionally up to 60 kmph and bad weather likely along the Oman coast, central west Arabian Sea and northwest Arabian Sea.

10/10/2025 & 11/10/2025: Strong winds gusting up to 40 to 50 kmph and at times up to 60 kmph and bad weather is likely over Gulf of Mannar and adjoining Kanyakumari area.
