'They said Ranjini Haridas and I were lesbians, but...'; singer opens up

Ranjini Jose, a popular Malayalam singer who has also showcased her acting talent, recently addressed long-standing rumours surrounding her personal life. Over the years, she has faced several controversies, including claims that she was in a relationship with singer Vijay Yesudas and allegations of a lesbian relationship with TV anchor Ranjini Haridas. Speaking on Ranjini Haridas’s YouTube podcast, the singer clarified her stance and candidly shared how these rumours have affected her.

Ranjini's words “I’ve noticed that people have become both sensitive and insensitive after the COVID period. There were reports about me and a fellow singer, and also about me and you (Ranjini Haridas). I had to respond once because I felt things were getting out of hand. Once you react, people keep repeating the same stories. That’s why I decided to clarify and end it. Many people supported me back then.

People said Vijay Yesudas and I were dating. But he’s been my childhood friend since school days. We’ve never dated. Those who think that way are simply imagining things. Why would I date Vijay Yesudas? He’s my best friend. Maybe such things happen in Karan Johar’s movies, but not in my life.

Later, people started saying both you and I were lesbians. I don't have any issue with people calling me a lesbian. But I’m not one. I only said that just because you’ve recently learned about homosexuality, you don’t have to bring it up everywhere," Ranjini said.
