Couple and child die after jumping in front of train due to family dispute

AMARAVATI: In a tragic incident, a three-member family committed suicide by jumping in front of a goods train. The incident took place near the Kadapa railway station in Andhra Pradesh at around 11 pm on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Kadapa natives Sreeramulu (35), his wife Sirisha (30), and son Rithwik (1). According to initial reports, the three committed suicide following a family dispute. Meanwhile, Sreeramulu's grandmother suffered a heart attack and died after the couple left home with their child following the dispute.

According to police, the couple had an argument on Sunday evening, during which the grandmother tried to intervene. As the quarrel intensified, the couple took their child and left the house. Soon after, the elderly woman collapsed and died. The couple then went to Kadapa railway station and stood on the tracks, where they were hit by a passing goods train. The bodies have been taken to a hospital and will be handed over to relatives after police formalities.
