29-year-old collapse inside aircraft after takeoff; Saudi Airlines flight makes emergency landing in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An Indonesian national passenger of the Saudia flight 821 fainted on board. The incident took place on the aircraft en route to Medina, Saudi Arabia, which took off from Jakarta, Indonesia. The 29-year-old man, who felt unwell, collapsed inside the aircraft.

The Saudi Airlines flight, which was flying to Medina, made an emergency landing around 6.30 pm at the Thiruvananthapuram airport following the incident. The emergency landing was reportedly necessary to ensure immediate medical attention for the man on board.

The unconscious man has been shifted to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. Hospital officials said the passenger was brought in with a complaint of chest pain and is being treated in the emergency department. They added that an ECG and blood tests are being conducted.

No other information is available about the passenger or his health condition. Airport sources confirmed that the flight will resume its journey to Madinah later in the evening once clearance is given.
