CHANDIGARH: Police have received a video recorded by Aqeel Akhtar before his death, alleging that his family was planning to kill him. Aqeel Akhtar is the son of former Punjab DGP Muhammad Mustafa and former minister Razia Sultana. He was found dead at his Panchkula residence in Haryana, days after recording the video. Aqeel was found unconscious inside his house. The family later claimed that he died of a drug overdose.

Aqeel alleges in the video that his father is having an affair with his wife. He said that there are conspiracies to kill him or frame him in a fake case. The man also alleges in the video that his mother and sister are involved in it. Aqeel has made allegations against the family, including being detained in a fake case, sent to a rehabilitation centre, and having his money taken away, leading to a loss of business income. He also says that the family physically abused him.

The 16-minute video recorded by 35-year-old Aqeel before his death was given to the police by his neighbour, Shamsuddin Chowdhury. He has filed a complaint with the police demanding a detailed investigation into the matter. However, in another video that surfaced, Aqeel himself refuted the allegations made against the family. He told that all the previous allegations were baseless and that the video was shot when he was mentally disturbed.

Aqeel says he was being treated for schizophrenia and was well taken care of by his family. “My sister used to give me medicine. I wouldn't take it because I thought she was giving me poison. She used to tell me, 'Take the medicine'," Aqeel said. "Thank God, I am blessed with such a family," he added.

However, Aqeel's tone can be heard changing abruptly again towards the end of the video. Aqeel can be seen cursing his family before the clip ends, saying, "Let's see what comes out of life, whether they eventually kill me."
