'SDPI assailants infiltrated protest and unleashed violence'; CPM responds to Kozhikode poultry plant attack issue

KOZHIKODE: The CPM blamed SDPI as the brain behind the violent protest against the Fresh Cut Chicken Waste Treatment Plant operating at Irachilpara in Ambayathode. The CPM district secretariat demanded a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to task. The party alleged that SDPI workers infiltrated the public to turn the protest into violence.

CPM:

“There was simmering anger among people of the locality due to the foul odour emanating from the Fresh Cut Slaughterhouse Waste Treatment Plant in Ambayathode. It is undeniable that the problems faced by the people need to be resolved. Action must be taken to resolve the problem permanently. Fresh Cut Slaughterhouse Waste Treatment Plant, which is operating under a High Court order, was facing strong protest from people, and hitherto it was peaceful. However, SDPI assailants infiltrated the protest on Tuesday and unleashed violence, taking advantage of the innocence of the people.

The SDPI criminals who set several vehicles on fire, attacked the police and destroyed property. The gang included people from other districts who are trained for violence. The CPM District Secretariat demands that the secret forces who are trying to create riots by targeting innocent people be brought to justice, and a thorough investigation into the violence be conducted.”
