Case against prison officer for having sex with convict in prayer room as two guards outside
LONDON: A case has been registered against a prison officer for engaging in sex with a convict in the prayer room of the jail. Isabelle Dale, 23, had sex with convicted robber Shahid Sharif. The incident happened at HMP Coldingley in Surrey, Britain. They engaged in sex while two other inmates acted as lookouts. Dale is also alleged to have had sex with another prisoner. Prison officials told Southwark Crown Court that they had CCTV footage of the act in the prayer room.
A sexually explicit message from Sharif was found on Dale’s phone after the act. Sharif, who is serving a 12-year sentence, was transferred to another prison after the incident. Even after he was transferred, Dale visited him thrice, the prison officials told the court. Dale is accused of sending sexually explicit images to the Sharif via email and transferring money twice while working as a prison officer.
Sharif got Dale to help him smuggle envelopes laced with spice into his new prison. Dale operated Sharif’s drug dealing Snapchat account and sourced synthetic cannabis from his friend Lilea Sallis.
When Dale was arrested, a packet of carbon paper used to hide contraband from prison X-ray machines were found in her car. Police found an engagement ring Dale said had been bought by Sharif and a framed canvas of the couple hanging over her bed. Investigators said a search of Sharif’s cell found love letters and nude photos sent by Dale. Dale had a sexual relationship with another inmate, Connor Money.
