Delhi High Court extends final arguments in CMRL Exalogic monthly payment case again: Petition to be considered only next year
NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has again extended the hearing in the CMRL Exalogic monthly payment case involving Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter T Veena. The hearing was again extended because the lawyer for the central government and the SFIO did not appear. The case will be considered again on January 13 next year.
Advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for CMRL, argued in the court that the SFIO was not serious about the case. CMRL had applied to the court seeking a report of the ROC (Registrar of Companies) investigation. The High Court, which issued a notice to the investigating agency accordingly, ordered that the report be submitted through the ASG. The final hearing has been postponed again, as the Delhi High Court was expected to hear the case from today. The case was listed before the bench of Justice Neena Bansal Krishna. The petitions were earlier listed before the bench of Justice Girish Kathpalia, but they came before the new bench after the roster changed.
Meanwhile, the Kerala High Court has adjourned the petition seeking a CBI investigation in the monthly payment case for detailed arguments. It is learnt that a division bench comprising the Chief Justice will consider the petition on the 3rd of next month. The demand is for an investigation based on the Income Tax Department Settlement Board report. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter Veena T, and CMRL Company are among the opposing parties in the case.
