THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: India’s first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering project is becoming a reality in Thiruvananthapuram. The project will be implemented at the Vizhinjam International Port. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Adani Ports Limited have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for this purpose. Industry Minister P Rajeev said that this would mark a revolutionary change in the country's maritime sector.

BPCL has signed an MoU with Adani Vizhinjam Private Port Limited to launch the project. This will be a milestone in India's maritime sector. Located in one of the most strategically important shipping routes in the world, the Vizhinjam port will attract more international vessels through this initiative. Vizhinjam is expected to become a key hub for LNG fuel supply. This new project aligns with the development policies of Kerala, which aim to effectively implement a carbon-neutral strategy.
