Megastar Mammootty returns to Kerala; major reception accorded in Kochi, drives home in his own Land Cruiser
KOCHI: Megastar Mammootty returned to Kerala after an eight-month hiatus. Minister P Rajeev was at the Nedumbassery airport to receive him. The actor along with his wife Sulfath reached Kochi this afternoon. The actor was in Kerala till March 2025. He later shifted to Chennai for his treatment. After recuperating, he joined for the shooting of ‘Patriot’ in Hyderabad and London.
A grand reception was accorded at the airport for Mammootty. A lot of his fans were there to see him. The actor then came out from the airport driving his own Land Cruiser. The actor may attend various programmes in the city. He will also attend the programme organized by the state government as part of Kerala Piravi Day (November 1). The actor reached Kochi to attend the programme in connection with the release of his film Kalamkaval.
The actor’s fans were waiting with prayers for his recovery. A native of Thiruvananthapuram had offered Ponninkudam Vazhipadu at the Rajarajeshwara Temple in Mammootty’s name. The offering was made by A Jayakumar for the actor in Uthram Nakshatram. The temple officials received Jayakumar with a photo of the temple's idol, Rajarajeshwara. Actor Mohanlal had made an offering in the name of Mammootty at Sabarimala.
