"Rahul had mentioned about starting something like this": Actress Tanvi Ram attends function with Rahul Mamkootathil
PALAKKAD: Actress Tanvi Ram participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony of MLA Rahul Mamkootathil's dream project 'Smile' home scheme. Tanvi said that this is a project that will make the dreams of the homeless come true and she is very happy to be able to participate in the ceremony.
'I have come to Palakkad for many programs before. I have come for such a program today also. Rahul had told me about starting such an initiative some time ago. I am very happy that he called me here. A house is becoming a reality here today. Appreciations to Rahul for coming forward with such an initiative.'- Tanvi told a media outlet.
Rahul Mamkootathil responded that he had seen people sleeping in houses covered with tarpaulin sheets when he went out to seek votes and this was the inspiration for this project. "It was Asif Ali who came to inaugurate the first house of the Smile Housing Scheme. Saiju Kurup came as the chief guest after that. Now I am very happy that Tanvi Ram is participating in the function," Rahul Mamkootathil responded. "People had asked me during the elections what I would do if I became an MLA. I said then that I would provide houses to the homeless," he added.
The 'Smile' home scheme is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative led by Indel Money in collaboration with the Smart Palakkad Foundation and supported by Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil. The project aims to build 20 homes for homeless, deserving families in the Palakkad constituency.
