Former minister M R Reghuchandrabal passes away
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former minister, senior Congress leader and educationist M. R. Reghuchandrabal passed away. He was 75. The funeral will be held at his family home in Kanjiramkulam at 3.30 pm today.
The body will be kept for public viewing at his current residence in Kadappathala Nagar, Pipinmoodu, Sasthamangalam, at 8 am today and at the DCC office at 10 am. Later, it will be taken to Kanjiramkulam. At 12 pm, the body will be kept for public viewing at Kanjiramkulam Junction. At 3 pm, the body will be taken to Mavila in a mourning procession.

M. R. Reghuchandrabal was born on March 12, 1950, to the family of freedom fighter M. Kunjukrishnan Nadar, a freedom fighter and MLA. His father was M Ragahavn and Kamala Bai. Reghuchandrabal served as the President of Kanjiramkulam Grama Panchayat from 1978 to 1993. He became a member of the Legislative Assembly from Kovalam in 1980 and Parassala in 1991. Reghuchandrabal was the Minister of Excise in the K. Karunakaran cabinet from 1991 to 1995. He has also served as a member of the KPCC Executive Committee and Chairman of K.N.M. Arts and Science College, B.Ed College and T.T.C. College.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Speaker A.N. Shamseer, KPCC President Sunny Joseph, Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan, senior leaders Ramesh Chennithala and K.C. Venugopal, among others, condoled the death of Reghuchandrabal.
