Actress sexually molested by film producer; allegation of involvement of another actress-model

BENGALURU: A prominent film producer has been arrested on charges of molesting an actress. The owner of AVR Entertainment, Aravind Venkatesh Reddy, has been arrested. The arrest was made on the complaint of an actress-model. The police arrested Venkatesh, who had arrived in Bengaluru from Sri Lanka. The police had issued a lookout notice against him.

The complaint states that Aravind and the actress first met when she was invited as a guest of honour for the inauguration of a cricket tournament in Sri Lanka in 2021. Their interaction soon turned friendly, and the businessman allegedly showed "care, affection and constant attention".

When the actress started maintaining distance in 2023 and made it clear that she did not want to continue the relationship, Aravind started following her to several places, constantly calling her and making threats, including "I will kill you". He is also accused of threatening her family members. The actress said that the constant pressure pushed her to a breaking point.

Unable to bear the mental and physical torture, the actress reportedly attempted suicide by consuming over 100 pills at her home in J.P. Nagar. The actress says that her friend Shailesh took her to the hospital, which helped save her life.

During her hospitalisation, she told Aravind that she no longer wanted to maintain any kind of relationship. The complaint alleges that this angered him and led to further humiliation, including insulting her personality.

The actress has alleged that Aravind morphed her photos and circulated them online. Another complaint has been filed with the Cyber ​​Crime Police Station regarding image manipulation.

The actress has also named another actress-model, who she claims supported Aravind's harassment. A separate complaint has been filed against the actress-model, alleging that she photographed the actress at the airport without permission, sent the pictures to Aravind, and made defamatory allegations, including accusations of prostitution.

Meanwhile, Arvind Venkatesh denied the allegations in the actress's complaint. Arvind alleged that he gave the actress money and a house and that she was having an affair with someone else.
