'20 lakh job opportunities for women, playground in all local bodies'; LDF releases local body election manifesto

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The LDF local body election manifesto has announced that it will implement poverty alleviation in Kerala through micro plans and provide more financial assistance to local bodies. Families living in extreme poverty have been brought out of poverty through specific schemes. Efforts will continue to ensure that they do not fall back into poverty, the manifesto states.

"The Congress, while adopting a soft Hindutva approach, is in alliance with organisations like Jamaat-e-Islami and SDPI. The BJP is working hard to create communal divides. The Congress has proven itself incapable of resisting," the manifesto states.

Other important announcements

1. Absolute poverty among Scheduled Castes will be completely eliminated within five years

2. All eligible persons not included in the Life Mission list will be provided with houses within five years

3. All primary health centers in the state will be converted into family health centers

4. Stray dog ​​rescue centers will be started with the help of voluntary organizations

5. 20 lakh women will be provided employment in five years in collaboration with Kudumbashree

6. Those living on the outskirts of the road will be rehabilitated by providing land titles

7. Deaths due to heart attacks, including those in coastal areas, will be included in the insurance coverage

8. All roads requiring maintenance will be repaired through a one-time reconstruction project

9. A playground will be ensured in all local bodies

10. Mini-industrial parks will be established in all local bodies

11. Shop at Door scheme to sell Kudumbashree products

12. Lapse of the development fund of Scheduled Castes will be avoided
