THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar vowed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will personally present the city's development plan for the next five years within 45 days if NDA comes to power in the Thiruvananthapuram corporation. The state BJP chief was inaugurating the Vikasita Ananthapuri campaign meeting, where all 101 NDA candidates for the Thiruvananthapuram corporation were introduced.

“In Thiruvananthapuram, five and a half lakh families do not have drinking water, eighty thousand families do not have houses, the drainage system is in shambles, forty per cent of the street lights are not working, and two lakh people have been attacked by stray dogs.

The LDF government, which was in power for a decade, and the Congress, which had eight central ministers from Kerala during the UDF regime, did nothing for Thiruvananthapuram. If a BJP mayor is elected, primary health centres will come in every ward, and corruption will be reduced to zero per cent. The Congress, which is trying to milk most from the Sabarimala controversy, should first give up its ties with the SDPI and Jamaat-e-Islami,” said Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

BJP City District President Karamana Jayan, NDA Convener Thushar Vellappally, P.K. Krishnadas, Sreelekha, K. Soman, V.V. Rajesh, A N Radhakrishnan, P Ashok Kumar, NDA leaders Premraj, Peroorkada Harikumar, Nedumangad Rajesh, and Vishnupuram Chandrasekharan participated.
