WASHINGTON: A report from the US states that Pakistan's claim that the Rafale jets used by India during Operation Sindoor were crashed is false. The US Congressional Advisory Committee report says that China is behind this false information through AI-generated images and posts. These images and footage were widely circulated on social media.

China has widely circulated AI-generated images of Rafale fighter jets through fake social media accounts to make them look like wreckage, according to the annual report submitted to the US Congress by the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission. China used this tactic to undermine the global market potential of the French-made Rafale fighter jet and to destroy reputation of Indian and French aircraft. The intention was also to strengthen the market for China's J-35 fighter jet in various countries.

India launched Operation Sindoor in May, days after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. The superiority of India's weapons and the pitiful nature of Pakistan's weapons were discussed all over the world at this time. Most of the weapons used by Pakistan against India were Chinese weapons.

They used this time to highlight the features of China's weapons. India had destroyed Pakistani military aircraft and air defence systems. The US report says that China's claim that the 'Rafale plane was shot down' was a targeted information campaign during the conflict to achieve strategic commercial and geopolitical outcomes in the global defense market, without engaging in direct military confrontation itself.
