Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Kerala team to be led by Sanju Samson, Ahammed Imran as vice-captain

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala has announced its squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. Indian star Sanju Samson will lead the Kerala team. Ahammed Suharaji Imran has been named as the vice-captain. Sanju's brother Sali Samson, and IPL players Vignesh Puthur and Vishnu Vinod are also part of the team.

The Kerala Cricket Association clarified that Vignesh was included in the squad because he played in the practice match against Madhya Pradesh. Vignesh was dropped from the Mumbai Indians team before the IPL auction. Salman Nisar, who was injured during the Ranji Trophy match, has also been included in the team.

The Mushtaq Ali tournament begins on the 26th of this month. Kerala is in Group A, which includes Mumbai, Vidarbha, Andhra Pradesh, and Railways, as well as other teams like Assam and Chhattisgarh. Odisha is Kerala's first opponent.
