Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer ‘Vilayath Buddha’ is having a dismal run at the box office, even trailing behind the Malayalam thriller movie Eko. The Prithviraj movie was rated mediocre by most critics, while some others said it lacked punch.

Amidst this gloom over the movie’s box office performance, Sandip Senan, who released the movie under the banner Urvasi Theatres, filed a case against a YouTube channel for pushing a communal narrative in the guise of a movie review. Senan said the review had nothing to do with the movie’s content but was aimed at triggering communalism.

It is reported that Sandip described the review as ‘cyberterrorism’ in the complaint filed at Ernakulam North police station. The producer said that the YouTube page promoted baseless accusations of Prithviraj promoting anti-Hindutva propaganda through this movie.

The producer, who admitted to bankrolling almost Rs 40 crores for the movie, expressed his disappointment over the negative reviews continuing without impunity on social media. Police filed a case in this regard.
