'I cried for days, worked as a cook'; actor Krishna opens up
Actor Krishna said that he still calls directors to ask for opportunities. Speaking in an interview given to a YouTube channel, the actor added that he no longer expects to play hero roles in films.
"I no longer expect to play hero roles in films. If I remain adamant that I would do only hero roles, then I would be sitting idle at home," Krishna said.
The actor also revealed that he had once worked as a cook in Delhi. “I come from a restaurant family. My father taught me that to reach the top level, you must first wash plates. You have to start from the bottom. That mindset became my strength. It’s that backbone that still helps me get roles in films. I am someone who keeps asking for chances until I get them. When I didn’t have films, I went to Delhi,” Krishna said.
Explaining why he left Kerala, Krishna said, “If I had stayed here, I would have just become a boss. To gain courage and learn to handle life and language better, I had to leave Kerala. Here, people know me as a film actor. If I call, controllers will send vehicles for me. But I had to learn what life really is.”
“I went to Delhi and fought hard. I had cried for days because I had once been at the top in Malayalam cinema and then had fallen so low. I worked there as a cook and learned to make tandoori. Even in the heat, I could knead dough with my hands. It became my habit. No one recognised me there, and social media wasn’t very active then. I worked for a year and came back more confident,” Krishna said.
