Newlywed bride found dead in husband's house in Thrissur; police suspect self-immolation

THRISSUR: A 20-year-old pregnant woman died after suffering severe burn injuries in her husband's house in Mattumala, Varandarappilly. Sharon's wife, Archana (20), a native of Mattumala, was found dead in the incident. Her body was found in a concrete pit behind their house at around 4 pm.

It is believed that she self-immolated and ran outside the house. Sharon's mother had gone to pick up Sharon's sister's child from the Anganwadi. Archana was found dead when they returned. Forensic experts will arrive tomorrow morning to conduct an examination. Police took Sharon into custody in the incident.

Varandarappilly police launched an investigation into the incident. Sharon and Archana married just six months ago after being in a relationship for many years.
