Rahul Mamkootathil MLA fled in film actor’s Polo car, police get vital information
PALAKKAD: A search continues for Rahul Mamkootathil MLA, who is on the run, in the sexual abuse case. Reports say Rahul fled in a red polo car of his friend, a film actor. The police have obtained crucial information about it. Rahul went hiding after the survivor filed a complaint with the chief minister.
Rahul was attending a campaign programme at Kannadi in Palakkad when the survivor went to meet the chief minister. After knowing that a complaint had been filed, he fled in the red Polo car. This is clear from the CCTV footage here. However, it is not clear whether the same car is still being used.
The investigation team had yesterday searched Rahul's flat at Kunnathurmedu in Palakkad. However, the CCTV footage of the day the woman arrived was not found. The search was following the woman's statement that she was raped after being brought here. However, the CCTV DVR did not contain the footage of that time. It is hinted that the caretaker of the apartment deleted the CCTV footage. The special investigation team will question him in detail today.
The police are trying to recover the backup by subjecting the hard disk to forensic examination. The investigation team reached the flat yesterday morning after questioning Rahul's personal staff member Fazal.
