‘Rahul Mamkootathil is my intimate friend’; police seek details from actress who gave car to flee

PALAKKAD: Police seek details from the actress who gave her red polo car for Rahul Mamkootathil MLA to flee. Police sought details from her via phone. The actress told police that Rahul is only her close friend. The actress is presently in Bengaluru. The police found that the red car used to escape belonged to the actress who had come to inaugurate Rahul's housing project days before the case was filed against him.

This car was in Palakkad since last Wednesday. The investigation team got crucial information from questioning Rahul’s personal staff and driver. The investigation team had earlier received information about the car in which Rahul escaped from Palakkad. The investigation team also suspect that Rahul's friend and the second accused in the case, Joby Joseph, was with him.

The information received by the investigation team yesterday is that Rahul went straight to Pollachi in a red Polo car from Palakkad. After this, he avoided the highway and entered Coimbatore via Kozhinjampara, which is on the district border. From Coimbatore, he reached Bagaluru, which is on the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border. He had been hiding in a resort here since Sunday. When he got to know that the investigation team would be arriving here, he fled from here. It is reported that he went to Karnataka from there. Rahul is changing cars throughout his journey.
