Sanju Samson included, Hardik Pandya returns: India announce squad for T20I series against South Africa

MUMBAI: The BCCI has announced the Indian squad for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team, while Shubman Gill has been named vice-captain. Malayali player Sanju Samson has been included as the wicketkeeper. Left-handed batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has not been selected.

Although Shubman Gill, who is currently injured, is part of the squad, it is still uncertain whether he will play. He will be included in the playing XI only if he regains full fitness. Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Jitesh Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah have also been named in the team. All-rounder Hardik Pandya has returned after recovering from injury.

The T20 series will start on December 9, after the ongoing ODI series, with the remaining matches scheduled for December 11, 14, 17, and 19.
