THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam said the future of Kerala lies with the Left Front and that they will soon make a comeback. The party has suffered a defeat in the local body elections. Therefore, the committees of the Communist Party are obliged to examine it seriously. They will examine it sincerely, find the mistakes, correct them and move forward, he said while talking to the media.

‘We have only less time for the assembly elections. In this short time, we will examine the shortcomings on our part. Necessary corrections will be required. If mistakes are found, we will not hesitate to admit them. We will not hesitate to correct those mistakes. That is the specialty of communism. Therefore, we are completely relieved about the future,’ said Binoy Viswam.

Meantime, the LDF is planning to examine the unexpected setback suffered in the local body elections. The CPM assessed that although many local bodies were lost, the foundation has not been damaged. The LDF has decided to hold emergency review meetings as the election results are worrying the government, who is expecting a third term. The CPM secretariat is being convened today. The election results in all 14 districts will be discussed. An LDF meeting is also being held tomorrow.
