BENGALURU: A 21-year-old woman tried to escape through a drainpipe from the fourth floor when the police raided a party. She fell after losing her balance and was admitted to the hospital for serious injuries. The incident took place at the Sea Esta Lodge in Brookefield, Bangalore. The woman's father has registered a case with the police.

The woman and seven friends had booked a room at the lodge in Brookfield. They were partying in three rooms from 1 am. When the party continued into the early hours of the morning, the neighbours called the police, citing noise and other disturbances.

The police then reached the lodge and reprimanded the youths. Soon after the police interaction, the woman allegedly panicked and tried to escape through the balcony of the room on the fourth floor. She was climbing down the balcony through a drainpipe attached to the building wall. The 21-year-old reportedly lost her grip, which resulted in the fall.

It is alleged that the police, who reached the lodge room, demanded money from the youths. However, there is no confirmation in this regard. A case of negligence has been filed against the lodge owner based on a complaint from the woman's father, citing inadequate balcony safety. An investigation is underway to understand the incident and determine responsibility, including questioning friends, hotel staff, and police officers who were present.
