Learned of father's death at airport, Vineeth Sreenivasan rushes back to Kochi

KOCHI: Veteran actor, screenwriter and director Sreenivasan passed away on Saturday morning. Sreenivasan developed discomfort while going to a private hospital in Kochi for dialysis and was rushed to the Tripunithura Taluk Hospital, where he breathed his last. Sreenivasan passed away at around 8:30 am on Saturday. Only his wife Vimala, was present beside him at the time of death.

In the morning, Sreenivasan’s elder son and actor Vineeth had left Kochi for Chennai to attend some pre-arranged events. Vineeth learned the news of his father's death at the airport and cancelled the trip. Vineeth then rushed to his mother at the Tripunithura Taluk Hospital.

Vineeth, who started his career in movies playing small roles, made an impact by playing a protagonist role in Sreenivasan’s film 'Makante Achan'. Like their father, Dhyan and Vineeth ended up in movies and even directed movies. Vineeth Sreenivasan is the director behind many hit movies, including Malarvadi Arts Club, Thattathin Marayathu, and Jacobinte Swargarajyam. Meanwhile, Dhyan has written several movies and directed the film ‘Love Action Drama’.
