Popular content creator Devapiya surprised all of her followers when photos of her marriage appeared on social media. Many of her followers were in disbelief after learning of the age gap between the bride and groom. This covert marriage function ignited debates on social media, as many even thought it was part of a prank. Ending all those rumours, Devu’s brother clarified the incident on his Instagram page.

Devapriya’s brother said that the family held talks with the groom and his relatives and even convinced her not to take the relationship seriously. However, according to him, Devapriya eloped with the groom one day, all of a sudden.

There have been many questions regarding her marriage, and I feel it's important to clarify a few things.

1) Why the sudden marriage?

We didn't know about it. She eloped with him from college. This was completely unexpected for us. He is 31+ and a psychologist; a 19-year-old's thoughts and decisions can change with time, and that is something he should have understood.

2) Did we force her to marry someone else?

Never-not even once. Our only concern was her education and her future. We wanted her to complete her studies, build a career, and have a better life.
