'Cry about things halfway across globe, nothing for our brothers'; Janhvi Kapoor minces no words on Dipu Chandra Das lynching
After actress Kajal Aggarwal’s public condemnation of the attack on Hindus in neighbouring Bangladesh, actress Janhvi has now come forward to severely criticise the brutal lynching of a Hindu man in Bangladesh.
Janhvi Kapoor, a Star actress and the daughter of late Sridevi, minced no words in her Instagram stories condemning the lynching of a Hindu man named Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh.
Janhvi Kapoor’s Instagram story:
“What is happening in Bangladesh is barbaric. It is slaughter, and it is not an isolated incident. If you don't know about his inhumane public lynching, read about it, see the videos, and ask the questions. And if, despite all of this, you feel no rage, then it is exactly this kind of hypocrisy that will destroy us before we know it. We will continue to cry about things halfway across the globe while our own brothers and sisters are being burned to death. Communal discrimination and extremism in any and every form, whether we are the victims or the perpetrators, needs to be called out and condemned before we forget our humanity. We are pawns that believe we reside on either side of an invisible line. Recognise this. And equip yourself with knowledge so u can take a stand for the innocent lives that are continuously lost and terrorised in this communal crossfire.”
Earlier, Kajal Aggarwal shared an Instagram story with the caption ‘All eyes on Bangladesh Hindus’, condemning the brutal attack on minorities of the neighbouring nation.
Dipu Chandra Das, a factory worker, was picked up from his office by an incensed mob, who thrashed him to death. Even after the killing, the atrocities didn't stop. The dead body was stripped naked and hung up in the middle of the road. After this, a mob set the body on fire while others hollered religious chants. Dipu was murdered inhumanely for alleged blasphemy.
