‘Whoever wants to be the first among you must be the servant of all’; Thrissur Mayor responds to controversies

THRISSUR: Mayor Dr Niji Justin responded to the controversies over the election of the mayor for Thrissur Corporation. She said that she is not responding to the serious allegations raised by Congress councilor Lali James. She added that the party will take the appropriate decision at the appropriate time. Niji Justin responded to the controversies by quoting Gandhiji's messages and the Bible.

'Gandhiji has said that service without humility is selfishness and arrogance. Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, whoever wants to be the first among you must be the servant of all, I want to be the servant of all the people of Thrissur,' said Niji Justin.

Earlier, DCC President Joseph Tajet had also responded to the allegations raised by Lali James. Soon after Lali James' levelled allegations, responded by sharing a picture on social media. The photo shared is of him riding a TVS moped wearing a mundu. Lali James yesterday levelled serious allegations that the Thrissur Mayor's post was sold for money and that the party rejected her due to lack of money.

She expected the mayoral post. Her name was heard in the initial discussions. Lali James said that it was senior Congress leader Therambil Ramakrishnan who told her to wait until the end. Lali James' serious allegations are in Namaste Kerala. Dr Niji Justin took charge as the mayor of Thrissur yesterday.
