Sivagiri ready for Guru devotees, pilgrimage begins tomorrow
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 93rd Sivagiri pilgrimage will begin tomorrow in the spirit of Gurudeva's devotion. Sivagiri is all set for the pilgrimage to be held on January 30, 31 and 1. The main theme of this year's pilgrimage conferences is the relevance of Sree Narayana Gurudeva's vision in the current development movement. More than 50 lakh Gurudeva devotees are expected to reach the Mahasamadhi.
Vice President CP Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the Sivagiri pilgrimage tomorrow at 9.30 am. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the Mahatma Gandhi Conference on the 31st at 9.30 am. The Sivagiri pilgrimage has 12 conferences organized on eight topics given by the Guru. The presentations of the conferences will be based on topical issues. This year's pilgrimage is a continuation of the inauguration of the centenary of Gurudeva's Mahasamadhi by President Draupadi Murmu in October. This year's pilgrimage is being held in conjunction with the centenary of Swami Bodhananda's anointment as part of Gurudeva's molding of his disciple line, the centenary of the Gurudeva-Mahatma Gandhi Samagama, and the centenary of Swami Satyavrata attaining Samadhi.
Tomorrow morning, the inauguration ceremony of the pilgrimage programs will be presided over by Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust President Swami Sachidananda. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will be the chief guest. Dharma Sangham Trust General Secretary Swami Shubhangananda will deliver the blessing speech. Union Minister Suresh Gopi, Minister M.B. Rajesh, ZOHO Corporation Chief Scientist Dr. Sridhar Vembu, K.G. Baburajan (Bahrain), and Pilgrimage Committee Chairman Dr. A.V. Anoop will deliver speeches. Secretary Swami Saradananda will extend the welcome speech. Dharma Sangham Trust Board Member Swami Parananda will light the lamp.
