One charred to death as two coaches on Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express catch fire

VISAKHAPATANAM: One person was charred to death after two coaches of Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express caught fire. B1 and B2 coaches of the train were completely gutted in the fire. As soon as the accident happened, the passengers were evicted from the two coaches. A body of a person was found in a search conducted. The fire broke out Monday morning at 12.45 am at Yalamanchili railway station in Anakapalli district 66 kilometers away from Vishakhapatnam.

There were 82 passengers in one coach and 76 in the other. All efforts were taken immediately to evacuate the passengers. The dead is Chandrasekhar Sundaram of Andhra Pradesh. The railways informed that passengers of the coaches that caught fire will be sent to their destination as soon as possible. Two forensic teams will inspect the coaches to find the cause of fire.
