'Potty entered Sonia Gandhi's house first, CPI does not cheat': Chief Minister with comments at first press conference of 2026
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that Potty first entered Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's house. He also said that some people are saying that the Chief Minister's Office interfered in the SIT investigation because there is no answer to the allegations. He was speaking at the first press conference of the new year.
'How did the big scammers get to Sonia? The thief and the person who bought the stolen goods came there together. Is Adoor Prakash the one who should go if Potty calls? The allegation that the Chief Minister's office is interfering in the investigation is like smirking since there is no answer. The SIT's investigation is being monitored by the High Court. The government has welcomed that investigation. The SIT is performing its duty well. The investigation is not being hindered in any way. A CBI investigation is not needed now. Kadakampally may have been questioned to get some clarity. The SIT will have to clarify many things. The CPI is not a party that shows deceit and fraud. They are a major constituent of the LDF. The CPM has a good relationship with the CPI,' said the Chief Minister.
"Those who have been freed from extreme poverty should not go back to poverty. Therefore, the extreme poverty alleviation project should be taken forward with caution. The local body election debates are over. The new governing body has new responsibilities. There is no government-opposition division in local bodies. Local bodies should give priority to waste-free projects. The government is proud to have held close the disaster victims. The construction of Wayanad Township is progressing. The township will have all the latest facilities. The best construction materials are being used there. Their quality is also being checked. The houses in the first phase will be handed over next month. The government is aiming for comprehensive rehabilitation. Five lakh houses will be completed next month under the LIFE project. The Citizen Response Program is starting today. Everyone's opinion is important. The government will listen to everyone. This will strengthen the creation of a new Kerala," the Chief Minister said at a press conference.
