13-year-old girl gang-raped by minor boys in Karnataka

BENGALURU: A 13-year-old girl was kidnapped and gang-raped by a group of minor boys in Karnataka. The incident happened in Hubballi, in Dharwad district. Police said the boys took the girl from her house when her parents were not present. They took her to an isolated place and sexually assaulted her. Hubballi–Dharwad Police Commissioner N Sasikumar said three boys aged 14 and 15 have been taken into custody.

Police said that two of the accused are high school students, while the third is a school dropout. The complaint filed by the girl’s parents states that the accused threatened her by claiming they had recorded a video of the sexual assault. Based on this, the police have taken the mobile phones of the accused into custody, and the investigation is ongoing, the officer added.
