Six minutes on stage, Rs 6 crore pay for popular South Indian actress
In Indian cinema, actresses are far behind actors when it comes to remuneration. This issue has been discussed for many years, with differing opinions. Some, including superstar Aamir Khan, have said that pay is often decided based on an actor’s ability to bring audiences to theatres, and that gender does not play a role in this.
Now, the fee received by a popular South Indian actress, who has also appeared in Malayalam films, has surprised many. Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, well known for her work in Telugu and Tamil cinema, reportedly received a massive payment for a recent dance performance. According to reports, she was paid Rs 1 crore per minute, earning a total of Rs 6 crore for a six-minute performance.
Tamannaah performed at an event held in Goa as part of the New Year celebrations. She enjoys a strong fan following for her dance skills, and fans often say that very few actresses in South Indian cinema can match her grace and energy on stage. She is currently active in Bollywood films as well.
The performance took place on December 31, 2025, at Baga Beach in Goa. Videos from the event have since gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion about remuneration and star power in the film industry.
