THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Governor Rajendra Arlekar has said that councillors of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation can approach him for support related to any development project. He made the statement after hosting a dinner for the corporation councillors at the Lok Bhavan. The Governor also said that everyone should work together to secure central assistance for development projects. Councillors from the BJP, LDF, and UDF attended the event.

Governor Arlekar suggested that a separate designated space should be identified in Thiruvananthapuram for protests, so that demonstrations do not cause inconvenience to the general public. He also recommended that councillors prepare a progress report every year.

Mayor V.V. Rajesh said after the dinner that the meeting was positive. However, Councillor R. Sreelakha did not attend the reception. This was the first time a sitting Governor of the state invited corporation councillors for an official meeting.
