Prashant Tamang, winner of reality show Indian Idol, dies of cardiac arrest

Prashant Tamang, actor and third-season winner of the Popular musical reality show Indian Idol, passed away on Sunday following a cardiac arrest. He was 43. Prasanth was a native of Darjeeling and of Nepali origin.

As per details, Prashant suffered cardiac arrest at his home in New Delhi today. He was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.

It was in 2007 that Prashant won the India Idol title with a huge margin, garnering over 700 lakh votes. It was after his friend’s persuasion that he went for the audition of the show and ended up winning the title.

Also an actor, Prashant had appeared in the second season of the popular series Paatal Lok. The actor had also completed work in Salman Khan-starrer Battle of Galwan, which is set to release later this year.
