'Sexually exploited after mixing sedatives in temple prasadam'; Popular webseries actress raises serious allegation against Mount Abu center
JAIPUR: Gujarati actress Pallavi Patil raised serious allegations of sexual exploitation against a member of the Brahmakumaris institution's Shantivan centre in Mount Abu. Patil identified her abuser as Amit Rathore, who she alleged was a dedicated member of the Brahmakumaris institution's Shantivan centre. Pallavi Patil said she was exploited by Amit three months ago. The actress said she reported the issue to the Shantivan centre but received threats and abuse in response.
Patil, a Gujarati actress, is known for her roles in web series and promoting divine videos on YouTube. Patil joined the Brahmakumaris centre almost four years back to seek solace from the stress induced by the film industry. Patil said her family was associated with the institution for years.
According to Patil, Amit had been relentlessly trying to establish contact with her and would chat with her often. One day, he gave her a Prasad, which she believes was mixed with a sedative substance. Patil felt dizzy immediately after consuming it and fell asleep. She woke up with severe body aches and found out that she had been sexually assaulted. When questioned, Amit held to blackmailing and even threatened to reveal more of her private videos and photos.
Patil said all her complaints with the police went in vain as officials allegedly threatened to frame charges against her if she dared to speak against the institution. As per various media reports, the Brahmakumaris institution responded to the incident, calling Patil a porn actress, who they said had a history of involvement in financial extortion and blackmail.
At the same time, the police are progressing with the investigation raised by the actress against a reputed institution.
