Tourist bus with college students overturns in Thiruvananthapuram; 17 injured, two in critical condition

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 17 students were injured after a tourist bus overturned in Navaikulam near Kallambalam today. There were students and teachers on the bus. Two among the injured are in critical condition. The others with minor injuries have been admitted to Parippally Medical College and a private hospital in Kollam. There were a total of 47 people on the bus.

The accident occurred at 3.30 am today. The bus carrying MBA students from Thrissur's Sahrdaya College to Vizhinjam on a study trip was involved in an accident. The bus, which was coming from the service road due to the bypass work being carried out on the national highway, had its wheels covered in mud and overturned. Student Christo Paul and Assistant Professor Noel Wilson were seriously injured. Hospital authorities said that the bus driver had only minor injuries.
