Upset over allegation of sexual abuse; youth ends life after woman shares video

KOZHIKODE: A 41-year-old youth committed suicide after visuals of sexual assault went viral on social media. The dead is Deepak of Govindapuram in Kozhikode. The youth was found hanging in his room Sunday morning. His family and friends are levelling serious allegations in his death. The Kozhikode Medical College Police have registered a case of unnatural death in the incident.

Deepak, a sales manager from Govindapuram, had gone to Kannur last Friday for his work-related affairs. A woman had recorded a selfie video on a busy bus, accusing Deepak of sexually assaulting her. This video was widely circulated on social media. Friends said Deepak was very upset over this. However, the locals said that Deepak would not behave badly in such a way.

Meantime, the woman who recorded his video stepped forward with a response. She said the youth assaulted her sexually. She said that she shot the video after convinced of bad touch. The incident happened in Payyannur. Had informed the Vadakara police. The youth saw the video being recorded. He got off the bus and quickly walked away. She then posted the video,' the woman said.
