Fled abroad? Case filed against woman for circulating video from crowded bus

KOZHIKODE: A case was registered against the woman, who circulated a video from a bus, which led to the suicide of Govindapuram native Deepak. The woman had earlier alleged that she was touched inappropriately by Deepak inside the crowded bus. The video was shared on social media, which went viral in no time. Unable to bear the humiliation, Deepak committed suicide yesterday. Medical College C I Baiju K Jose said that the case was filed based on a complaint by Deepak’s mother.

The young man's relatives had filed a complaint with the City Police Commissioner and Collector demanding action against the young woman. The statements of the relatives have been recorded. Meanwhile, the police received indications that the young woman had gone abroad. The phone on which the footage was recorded will be taken into custody. The police have collected the footage shared by the young woman on social media. The police also said that the statements of the fellow passengers and bus staff who were on the bus will be recorded.
