BJP will come to power in Kerala: Modi
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the BJP is moving forward in Kerala with strong confidence. He said the BJP has around 100 councillors in local body elections. In the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation elections, people placed their trust in the BJP, ending 45 years of Left rule in the state capital. Modi said he is fully confident that the people will definitely give the BJP a chance in the Assembly elections as well.
The Prime Minister was speaking at a function at the party headquarters in Delhi, where Nitin Nabin from Bihar took charge as the BJP’s 12th national president. Modi said he is just an ordinary party worker and that Nitin Nabin is now his boss.
"The BJP is making progress not only in Parliament and state assemblies, but also in local self-government institutions. In the Maharashtra municipal elections, the BJP emerged as the number one force with unprecedented gains, winning 50 per cent of the councillor seats. The BJP is a family and a culture, where relationships matter more than membership. Even if presidents change, the party’s ideology and direction will not change," Modi said.
"I am serving as Prime Minister for a third term, became Chief Minister before the age of 50, and have held positions of power for over 25 years. However, the biggest achievement of my life is being a BJP worker," he added.
The event was attended by Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, outgoing BJP president J.P. Nadda, BJP Chief Ministers, Union Ministers, MPs, state presidents, including Kerala leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar, party leaders, and a large number of workers.
